The Ripley County Chamber of Commerce recently held its 2023 Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner in Osgood. We were thrilled that John was recognized as the Business Person of the Year!
John was born in Batesville and grew up in Napoleon. He attended Purdue University and received his law degree from Indiana University in 1972. He’s been practicing law in Ripley County ever since, serving in many city and county legal positions as well as practicing private law. He also serves on the Indiana Trial Lawyers Board of Directors.
John accepted the award with his trademark warmth and humor, commenting, “They passed over me for 50 years. And I think they felt sorry for me!” He is honored to receive this award.
Other award winners include Hometown Hero Jimmy Adams, who retired after 40 years of service at the Osgood Post Office, Educator of the Year Gail Mosier, Jac-Cen-Del math teacher, and Citizen of the Year Charlotte Norman, oncology nurse and Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).
