A new recall has been issued by FCA US for over one million model year 2021-2025 Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler vehicles. There’s a risk of fire, even when the vehicles are not turned on.
Owners are advised to park affected vehicles outside and away from other vehicles and buildings until the affected vehicle is repaired. FCA US will notify vehicle owners when a recall remedy is available.
The recalled Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler vehicles may have an electrical connection issue in the power steering pump wiring which could cause combustible materials to overheat and possibly catch on fire. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation due to multiple reports of fire. So far NHTSA is aware of 51 fires and one injury that may be related to this issue.
Vehicle fires spread rapidly and can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time. If you have an affected Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator, park outside until a remedy is available and get your vehicle remedied as soon as possible.
You can search for affected vehicle identification numbers and license plates on NHTSA.gov or call NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn if your vehicle is affected.
