Versailles Pumpkin Show and Other Fall 2018 Events

2013_11_11_7383-1morgueRipley County is beautiful all year round, but early fall is especially nice. September is full of great area events, including the Versailles Pumpkin Show right outside our office. Here’s a quick roundup of fall events in southeastern Indiana this month:

Old Timbers Lodge Days

The Big Oaks Conservation Society is hosting an open house at the historic Old Timbers Lodge on September 8th, 2018 from 1-6 p.m. During that time, you can access the lodge from two gates on Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge, Gate 1A and Gate 8. Lodge tours and light refreshments will be provided.

Sunman Fall Fest

Celebrate fall at the Sunman Community Park on September 8th, 2018 beginning at 3 p.m. The day begins with a parade and concludes with a fireworks show, with lots of activities in between. Live music, beer/wine gardens, kids inflatables, craft and food vendors, and more.

Oktoberfest 2018 Street Festival

The Sherman Biergarten is presenting a free Oktoberfest street festival in Batesville on September 14th, 2018 beginning at 6 p.m. Musicians from Germany will play in the Biergarten, and 5 Lights will play on the intersection of George and Walnut Streets from 9 p.m. to midnight. Both streets will be closed for the event.

Vogt Farm Pumpkin Festival

On Saturdays and Sundays from September 22nd through October 21st, Vogt Farm will host the annual pumpkin festival. Take a horse-drawn trolley ride to the pumpkin patch. The festival also includes pony rides, a corn maze, paddleboat rides, and a petting zoo.

Kiwanis 29th Annual Apple Festival

This annual event features arts, crafts, entertainment, games, vendors, and, of course, plenty of apples! Event takes place at Liberty Park in Batesville on Saturday, September 22nd (11:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Sunday, September 23rd (11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).

Osgood’s 4th Annual Bricktoberfest

On Saturday, September 22nd from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Osgood’s historic brick road will host the 4th annual Bricktoberfest, a family-friendly community event featuring smoked barbecue, live entertainment, games, local vendors, and more.

Versailles Pumpkin Show

Indiana’s Oldest Festival takes place from September 26th-September 30th, 2018 on the Versailles Courthouse Square. This popular annual event is fun for everyone! Craft exhibits, art show, live music, rides for all ages, and more, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m on Sunday. Don’t miss the giant pumpkins at the parade on Saturday, which begins at 10:30 a.m.
