Ripley County Household Hazardous Waste Disposal

file000235448160The Southeastern Indiana Recycling District (SEIRD) and county governments partner to offer recycling and reuse centers throughout Franklin, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, Scott, and Switzerland counties. Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is collected twice a year in each county, with year-round disposal available for all residents through the Jefferson County Processing Center in Madison. Residents of these counties can also dispose of pharmaceutical waste year-round for free in partnership with district sheriff, police, and health departments.

2018 Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Dates for Ripley County

All HHW can be dropped off at your local recycling center during the following Saturdays in 2018:

April 7: Franklin County Recycling Center 8:00-10:00 am.

Batesville Recycling Center 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

April 14: Jennings County Recycling Center 8:00-10:00 a.m.

Scott County Recycling Center 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m

April 21: Switzerland County Recycling Center 8:00-10:00 a.m.

Ohio Recycling Center 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m

July 7: Franklin County Recycling Center 8:00-10:00 am.

Ripley County Recycling Center 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

July 14: Jennings County Recycling Center 8:00-10:00 a.m.

Scott County Recycling Center 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m

July 21: Switzerland County Recycling Center 8:00-10:00 a.m.

Ohio Recycling Center 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m

October 6: Franklin County Recycling Center 8:00-10:00 am.

Batesville Recycling Center 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

October 13: Jennings County Recycling Center 8:00-10:00 a.m.

Scott County Recycling Center 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m

October 20: Switzerland County Recycling Center 8:00-10:00 a.m.

Ohio Recycling Center 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m

Non-controlled pharmaceutical waste and sharps/lancets are accepted for disposal at the Ripley County Health Department in Versailles. Controlled medications can be disposed of at the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department and the Batesville Police Department all year around. Unused narcotics should also go to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department or the Batesville Police Department for safe disposal.

Ripley County’s Reuse Center is located at 2710 N. Hasmer Hill Road in Osgood, Indiana. The facility is open from noon to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon. You can learn more about local recycling and reuse efforts here.
