Ripley County is celebrating the United States Semiquincentennial with a variety of events to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Back to Square Run – Patriot 5K
Walk or run the streets of Versailles, Indiana during the 6th Annual Main Street Versailles Back to Square Run – Patriot 5k. The course starts and ends on the Versailles Courthouse Square, just outside the Schuerman Law office. Official race time provided by Stuart Road Racing. Register by June 10th to guarantee a t-shirt.
Ripley County Chamber Night Fireworks
Enjoy the 25th Annual Chamber Night Fireworks at the Ripley County Fairgrounds in Osgood, Indiana on Friday, July 3rd. The event kicks off at 5 p.m. with Andrew’s Mobile DJ Service followed by live entertainment with Tom Richardson & The Silverspurs starting at 7 p.m. and fireworks at dark. This is a free family event with fireworks generously provided by the Gilmore & Golda Reynolds Foundation Grant. Food vendors beginning at 5 p.m. Bring cash for glowsticks and glow items.
Versailles State Park Fireworks
Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with a full day of fun at Versailles State Park. Enjoy family activities and outdoor adventures throughout the day, then bring your blankets for fireworks. Free park admission from 7-9 p.m. with fireworks starting around 10 p.m. by the lake.
Batesville Fourth of July Events
Batesville is celebrating with patriotic events and art leading up to July 4th. On July 3rd, the bouldering wall will open at the Batesville Skatepark and Outdoor Adventure. Try disc golf at the Batesville Disc Golf Course, enjoy kids activities throughout the weekend, and listen to live music starting at 4 p.m. at The Plex. There’s a patriotic costume contest at 6:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at approximately 9:45 p.m.
Wake up early on July 4th to join the “Four on the Fourth” Fun Run, then shop at the farmers market and watch the 4th of July parade at 10 a.m. You can even join the parade if you’d like! Immediately following the parade head over to Liberty Park to enjoy a free community picnic and live music by The Eureka Band.
