The Gift of Reading

We recently held our annual visit with Santa at the Schuerman Law office in Versailles. This is one of my favorite events each year because there is nothing quite like seeing a child’s eyes light up as they whisper their Christmas wish list to Santa.

Providing each child with a new book to read is an important part of this yearly tradition. The ability to read has provided me with the gifts of knowledge and entertainment since childhood, and I am happy that Schuerman Law is able to pass that love of reading along to local children through our visit with Santa.

As Abraham Lincoln once said, “A capacity and taste for reading gives access to whatever has already been discovered by others.” Statistics show that children who read regularly are more likely to succeed in school. They tend to have stronger critical thinking skills and better communication skills than peers who do not read regularly, setting them up for success in both school and life.

If you have young children in your life, take a moment to relax and enjoy reading a book together this month.

Have a wonderful Christmas season,

John and the Schuerman Law team
